Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hi all, thank you so much for being part of my life and the ups and downs. I had no idea how much you guys really lift my spirits, and I always love reading your comments.

I really felt very encouraged after my health scare last year and I just want to say thank you again for your support.

I pray you have a wonderful Christmas Season, and I hope you will enjoy the Christmas break and that the New Year will bring great things.

I pray that you will have health, wealth and wisdom in abundance. I am a great believer in New Beginnings, but to do so you must forgive and let go to have a clean slate, to be able to start again.

And lastly and the most important, don't forget the reason for the season...

See you all in the New Year
Blessings Hilde

DT Card for SAS4Kids - Great news

Hi all, I have some exciting news, after a long hiatus from being on the DT of a variety of Challenge blogs, Karen from SAS4Kids asked if was interested in coming back and I sure was.
It's like coming home.

Thanks Karen, big hello to my Team Mates as well, looking forward to working with you all, Blessings Hilde

Here is my first card to get my feet wet so to speak. I pray you will all have a wonderful Christmas and a great start to the New Year. See you all in 2016 on SAS4Kids....blessings Hilde

Using a Bugaboo image and the rest is from my stash, I always use Pro markers for my colouring and the leaves are a MS punch, and the flower is made from fabric which I purchased off ebay. And lots of glitter, of course. I am loving the sentiment don't you ?

#49 - DT project for Crafting with Dragonflies - Anything Christmas

Hi all, it's the last challenge for the year over at Crafting with Dragonflies. It's anything Christmas, so the theme is great, and you can make whatever. From Cards to album, scrap booking to knitting.
Normally we are only a Card Challenge, but are pulling out all stops for our last challenge.

So I made this cute little Mini Scrapbook from scratch. There are at least another five pages but didn't want to bore you too much...you get the idea...

What I actually did, was took a full Scrapbook page and folded it over with a small overlap for glueing , so it enden up like a tube. Then I folded 1/3 of it over again to create the unique look of a paper bag, but with both bottoms open, I did 10 of those and stuck them together on the short ends, two by two. Then glued them together to create a booklet, then covered the outside front and back with what looks like a book binding. All that was left to do was to embellish and create lots of tags.
I enjoyed doing it ,but it is time consuming and you will need to use solid papers. For the front and back I did use some thicker cardboard to give it that book feel.
Now it's your turn.
Blessings Hilde

I will be entering this project into the following challenges:

Creative Fingers # 99: Anything goes
Simply Papercraft # 19 : Anything goes

#48 : DT card for Crafting with Dragonflies - Christmas card with ribbon

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and had a great week. Well the weekend is here again, the older I get the faster time seems to get...
This fortnight over at Crafting with Dragonflies, we are asking you to create a Christmas Card and add some ribbon.

Here is my contribution, please hop on over and check out the Design Teams makes.

I used the tree stamp from SU, everything else from my stash. I had a bit of cardboard floating around and just tore it up and exposed the core a little to give it this grunge look. The glitter glue smudged the ink of the stamp a bit, at first I was really upset, but now am happy about the 'look'. Ha, ha there is no such thing as mistakes in crafting is there?? It's all on a 14cm x 14cm white card stock.

Blessings Hilde

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Hi all, hope you are all well and enjoyed the week. Well welcome weekend...we all love the weekend.
This fortnight over at Crafting with Dragonflies it's Wynn's turn to pick the Theme, and she chose

Let it snow

Here in Sydney we are experiencing a lot of rain and storm as we are at the end of Spring, and Summer really wants to come, we have had some amazing lighting strikes...

So here is my card, hope you like it.

I used some of my Stampin up supplies, you all recognize this stamp I am sure, it's form Lovely as a tree, I made myself some templates for the snow drifts and used my SU ink pad called not quite navy.
Glitz and some silver glitz to imitate the snow and there you have it. A cute blue jewel  brad is holding the sentiment in place...

Hop on over to the Dragonflies and join in the fun...blessings Hilde

Some Roses from my Garden

Hi friends, I just thought I would share some pics of my collection of David Austin Roses that are in full bloom at the moment. I must say I am quiet proud of them. I never thought I could grow a rose, let alone have a mass of flowers. I keep smelling them all the time, and nearly sucked a small spider up my nostril, lol. The smell is wonderful, like turkish delight, just divine.
I had some red ones as well but my oldest son wanted them (oh yeah, mmmm? )
Just wanted to share my blessings with you
Hilde

If any of you awesome rose professors are out there, I would appreciate some of the technical names of them, as I bought them in a bunch, and it was pot luck, so I didn't know what I ended up with...
Not complaining though.

DT Card for # 45: Recycle something not normally used on a card

Hi everyone, over at Crafting with Dragonflies is another new Challenge starting, this time it's CG's turn and she chose: Recycle something not normally used on a card.

So I didn't really have anything, and I was late putting on my card, because I had one of the moments where I just could not find anything....until I walked into my garden and checked out my plants, very pleased to say my Vanilla Orchid is actually flowering, small mauve ones, so cute. And there was my husband sweeping up all the leaves from all over the place and this little gorgeous gum leaf stuck out. So I used it, insect holes and all, on the card..hope you like it.
I also used an assortment of leaf die cuts to give him some company, lol. Papers and everything else from my stash.

Hi everyone! It's Crafting with Dragonflies time again, and this fortnight we are asking you to create a card with the theme: Something Magical

What is magical to you?
Well to me it's Christmas time. So here are couple of Christmas cards. I just love the whole hustle and bustle of Christmas, the special decorations, food and family get togethers...love it...

On this card I used the quilting look, which is basically a circle folded into a square...

On this card, I used some some rectangle cut left scrap pieces of designer papers, and I used the wing part of the SU bird punch for the 'flame', and cut an edge off a gold doily for the bottom...

He I used part of a EK success punch for the top part of the image, which I found on the internet, some blingy silver star sticker, and scraps..
I Love Poinsettias for Christmas flowers.
Hope you like them...please hop on over to the Dragonfly blog and why not have a go at something

Embossed Dandelion card for Challenges

Hi all, hope you have been well.  As some of you are aware I had a bit of a health scare and I stepped down from pretty much everything last year, and just as well I did. I really needed time out. The cancer tumors are slowly but surely shrinking and the medication I am on is working well without many side effects. This is my second fight with cancer, and IT will not win....Amen.

So in the mean time I have cleaned up my card stashes, and multiple other stashes that I didn't even know I had (cough) found long lost treasures and gave a lot away, and re shushed my work area...So here I am ready to go again....

It feels good.

So I am gingerly poking my toe back in the water, lol...
Haven't done this for a while so be gentle...he, he....oh how I missed this..

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Scribble and Scrap # 44: Anything goes

Recipe: Mostly from my stash, the butterfly on the top right is MS punch, the bottom left one is a SU punch., The background is an embossing folder with two Dandelions ( which I got from a bargain shop- has no brand name on it), which I liberally covered with glitter, not sure that  you can see it.

Hope you like it,
Blessings Hilde

I'm Back, well sort of

Hi everyone. How are you all?
Thanks so much for hanging in there with me. I am so happy to see that not one of my very wonderful followers left me....You guys are awesome. Not sure at this point if I will be starting up Crafting with Dragonflies again. But you never know....I am feeling well and the medication seems to be doing it's thing...I do get very tired late afternoon (don't' we all??), and often have to stop what I am doing and have a quick half an hour power nap. Yet on the other side I do struggle to get to sleep at night time, but once I am asleep, I am out to it...only wake myself up from my own snoring at times, lol....ahh yes, the joys of getting older, he, he....
I have started a few different things just to keep my mind and body active, started a water colour painting class one morning a week, and I just did a soap making class last weekend...
Now I really enjoyed that one....and watch this space, I might be flooding you shortly with recipes and pictures of handmade soap.....like these, ahm!!

We just used the Chinese food takeaway containers, hence the weird shapes....just waiting for them to 'cure' so I can use them. The whole house smells divine...
Nice to be 'back'

Blessings Hilde
