Crafting with Dragonflies # 14: Make your own Flowers

Card 1: Embossed card stock using Tim Holtz Pointsettia die

Card 2: Handfolded whatever it's called, with cheery lynn die

Hi all, well it's Crafting with Dragonflies again, this fortnight we are asking you to
 make your own flower embellishment....
it could be on a card or anything or just on it;s own...up to you...
I bought this Tim Holtz Pointsettia die ages ago, and never really got around to play with it...so coming closer to Christmas I thought, perfect for this challenge, I was going to make one of those roly roses you make by cutting a spiral, got it all ready, just about to put some glue on it, glue is gone...by the time I found it the rose uncurled and went everywhere, so tried 2 more times, same thing...................deep breath...then I remembered I had this die.....believe it or not, I had not even used it before now, hanging my head.........
I dry embossed the white card stock after I cut out the die, sprayed liberally with all sorts of glimmermists, and added silvery ribbon, and used liquid pearls. I will definately do a few more Christmas cards like this, as I really like how it turned out..

Then I played around some more , even though I aslo have the Tim Holtz die for this type of flowerette, I handfolded this one....it nearly ended up in the bin, do you think that think would stop from opening up all the time....? no .....of course not...
but I finally tamed it, and it was worth it...poking out from behind is a die from Cheery Lynn...

Hope you like them, because I couldn't settle of which one to pick, you got both.....
go and check out what the Dragonfly girls came up with, blessings Hilde

Autumn Colours/Leaves for Challenges

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well...it's a strange feeling making Autumn Cards as here in Australia we are in the throws of Spring, but I had to have a play with the tattered leaves die from Tim Holtz, and also the vintage postcard print I found via Lilac and Lavender, and I very generously and liberally sprayed everything with my glimmer mist......including parts of my carpet and myself....and I now own a very funky looking T shirt...how on earth did I mangage to do that?? I did use multi coloured thin card and sprayed over the top....hope you can see it ok....

DT Card for the Squirrel and the Fox # 55: Pink for Breast Cancer

Image from Delicious Doodles

Hi everyone, hope you are as excited as I am ...This week at the Squirrel and the Fox we are asking you to create a card in pink for Breast Cancer.....
lets find cure for that horrible thing...
This one is dear to my heart as I am a Breast Cancer Survivor myself, and having just completed my anual check up, it is still quiet daunting and you hold your breath, until you get the all clear...
I hate it and we need to stamp it out.....there is hardly a family anywhere that hasn't been affected by this hidious cancer in one form or another....most of us know someone....shame...
Here is my interpretation of this gorgeous image from Delicious Doodles...
I used papers from my stash and some bits are from Kaiser Kraft which is my favourite paper company, maybe because it's an Aussie company and I am an Aussie as well, bit of loyalty there. I always use pro makers for my colouring. Lots of glitz on the flowers.
This image already comes in gray graduated shades so it is easy to colour..
Can't wait to visit your blog and see your wonderful creations, blessings Hilde

DT Card for SAS4Kids #66: Early Holiday Wishes

Using pre coloured image from the Paper Shelter called Snow Angel

Using pre coloured image from ColorINK called Sock Jingle Bear

Hi everyone, hope you had another great week. I have been busy giving my craftroom a bit of a tidy, and finding things that I don't really use anymore, and sadly things that I must of thought I had to have and are still in their original package!! Does this happen to you??
I have put some of them on ebay, can't hang onto everything, right?
Anyway more room now to fill up with more useful stuff....(or buy more stuff, he,he)
This fortnight over at SAS4Kids we are asking you to create a card with the theme:
Early Holiday Wishes
Might as well get in early and start making those Christmas cards, I have surprised myself on how many I have already made.......so I might actually be ahead for once.......(cough).....

Card1: For this card I have use a precoloured image from ours sponsor the Paper Shelter.....Love this snow angel digi, just gorgeous, the die cut frame is from a no frills no name die, and just gives it that bit of interest...if you have a look in the top left corner you can just see a set of wings....the paper is from a digi paper set from Raspberry Road....the other papers are from my stash, and I just added some blue liquid pearls..

Card 2: Papers from my stash, die cut is from a no frill, no brand die, I added some bling, and there it is...easy peasy, again I used a pre coloured image from our sponsor ColorINK...I also added the little bow, and lots of stickles around the boot cuff.

Now it's your turn to make some Holiday Cards. Looking forward to checking out your postings,
Blessings Hilde

Elegant Lady Birthday Card for Challenges

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and being creative....
I have had this card half done for a while, and couldn't work out how to finish it off, and then today, it only took me minutes to do it...go figure...
The stamp is from Kanban, and the rest is from my stash, I always use pro markers for my colouring and I used a combinations of stickles and liquid pearls, my new favourite....
When I was colouring I tried to make the dress look like velvet, not sure how successful I was...but you gotta try new things....
Sorry about the reflection on the left there, its actually red foil card so the flash made it look a bit weird....

DT Creation for Crafting with Dragonflies # 12 : Make a box with at least 3 cards

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and ready to get crafty....
Today over at Crafting with Dragonflies we are asking you to;
create a box with 3 cards inside,
which would make an excellent gift...
we are asking for 3 cards minimum but you could make more of course...if you have a link to where you got your idea from even better, but not compulsory...
Here is where I found my inspiration on Splitcoast stampers, that Beate is amazing...
click here for the link to the you tube video...
I had to change my size to metric, and had a fiddle a bit, but got it all worked out....I used christmas paper believe it or not  (echo park - Times and Seasons) only because I love the dark red on the sandy coloured cardstock, I had some dark red ribbon from stampin up that was perfect for it...the lid was finished off with a borderpunch from MS...the image is from our sponsor A Day for Daisies, and was a freebie a while back..so cute...
I always use Promarkers for my colouring and I made 3 little 8 X 8 cm cards for my box and made them into little thank you cards.....they are always very useful....

Make sure you check out what the other girls have made so hop on over and look at their gorgeous boxed card sets...

Now it's over to you, blessings Hilde

Card with Imagine That image for challenges

Hi all , hope you had a great day so far....this is my second entry into the challenge blog....
It is a progressive challenge, so once you start and purchase an image, then you will receive a freebie every month after you have entered into the challenge, not a bad deal I say.....Last month it was a  penguin image, and it was a freebie for everyone, and I decided to jump in, and I received this Gertie Goose via email the other day, it comes as a black and white line image and a coloured image...I used the line image and tried my hand at paper piecing, it was fun...I added some highlights with pro markers, and also added some liquid pearls...finished it off with a paper doily, and a 3d flower, papers are from Kaisercraft, called Chanteuse collection, all the other bits from my stash, which I am still trying to make a dent into, without much success..maybe if I stopped buying new supplies......mmmm.......naaaahhh!!.LOL

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Imagine That # 13:  image provided - Gertie Goose
Incy Wincy: Give Thanks
Scribble and Scrap # 2: Anything goes
