Serviette Fold for Mum

Hi everyone, hope you are well and had a great weekend. Well I did warn you, that I would try something different every week. Well here is my first attempt at a napkin/serviette fold card, made from one full size scrapbook page, hope you like it.I decided not to make it too fru fru, and left the outside edges straight. Most of the ones I saw had border punched. Instructions for this are all over You tube. Give it a go.
The top pic shows it folded, and I added a belli band with a ribbon tie. I used different papers from my stash but mainly Kaiser Craft.

DT card for the Papercraftin Journey : # 8 Vintage

Hi everyone, well it's Papercrafting Journey time again.
The image is from our sponsor Elizabeth Bell( Digi image), so cute.
The Theme is vintage. Some struggle and some excel in this style. I am in between somewhere, where does vintage end and shabby chic begin?  I muddle them up and like the result. The background image that the girl is on was a vintage freebie from a while ago, if I can find it again, I will add the link.
The flowers, doilies are all from my stash, I always colour with pro markers, the doilies are cut into quarters and used as accents ( got them from the baking isle) the background pink paper is from Kaisercraft and is from the Tiger lily collection. I also ink distressed gently along the way.
Hope you like it.
Go and check out my Design Team Members creations for more inspiration

DT Card for the Squirrel and the Fox # 16 Food

Warning long post.....sit in the comfy position before you start to read,  lol...

Hi everyone, hope you had a great weekend so far. It's the Squirrel and the Fox time again, and we are asking you to create something with a food theme. My card is a free template I found on the net (Stempeleinmaleins) The left side of the apron is the fold. I just used stuff from my stash to make this card and I always use Pro markers for my colouring.
On Wednesday the 25th of April is a special day for us Aussies. It's Anzac day. It's a day to reflect and remember the fallen soldiers. Anzac stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps.
It's a public holiday here and over the years the younger ones have taken to this day and have helped to keep the memories alive. We have so many soldiers and peace keepers all over the world, and so many of our soldiers have died in recent years, even we haven't been involved in any wars ourselves but our Allies have.
Just wanted to say thanks to all the soldiers: Army, Air force and Navy for all they do.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
2 Sisters # 88: Use a digi
TTT Shelly's Images : show us what you got
Digi Tuesday# 156: Distressed ( inked all around the apron, star and sentiment)

Here is a recipe for Anzac Biscuits, the women used to send these over to the soldiers. It's a special kinda biscuit, can be crunchy or chewy. Everyone loves them. Give them a try. They sell heaps of these all through out the year, but not more so than this week over Anzac Day. The profits of these special biscuits go to the widows and orphans or our lost soldiers. A worthy cause indeed.

Anzac Biscuits

Traditional biscuits baked by anxious wives and mothers during World War I, packed in food parcels, and sent to the Australian soldiers in the trenches.
Anzac Biscuits INGREDIENTS
1 cup rolled oats ( these are the full sized oats, not the chopped ones)
3/4 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
125g (4oz) butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 tablespoon water

Preheat oven to 300F (150C)

Mix oats, flour, sugar and coconut together.
Melt syrup and butter together.
Mix soda with boiling water and add to melted butter and syrup.
Add to dry ingredients.
Place 1 tablespoonfuls of mixture on greased tray (allow room for spreading).
Bake for 20 minutes.
Loosen while warm, cool on trays.
(makes about 35)

Hope you have some fun reading this post today, and let me know if you dared to try this recipe and how you went ......Blessings Hilde
