DT Card for the Squirrel and the Fox # 34: Party Time

Hi everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you a fantastic New Year.
Our sponsor for this next challenge over at the Squirrel and the Fox is :
Our generous sponsor is: Make it Crafty
They have some awesome digi stamps and real stamps as well. Go and check them out. This girls looks like she is ready for anything. I have tried a different type of fold for this one and am not too convinced that I like it yet. It was folded out of one complete scrap booking page 30 cm x 30 cm ( or 12 x 12 inches) The good thing about this one was it only needs to be one sided. If I can find the link to the original card, I will post it.
I always use pro markers for my colouring and the rest is from my stash. The finished size of this card is 15 x 15 cm. You fold in the corners to the centre, and then again. Then fold the inside corners back on itself. Done.
Blessings Hilde

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Sticky post

Hi everyone, I pray that you will all have a wonderful and peaceful Christmas. With all the things that have been recently going on in this world of ours, I hope that you would still believe in the good things of life.

I know that I will try my best to enjoy this season and not allow the hype that surrounds us get in the way.
My plan is not to get stressed, telling myself it's OK not to be perfect, and not try to do it all myself. I will allow others to help and will enjoy Christmas and try to relax.
THANK YOU  for being a follower of my blog and taking interest in my creations and posts. I really tresure every comment and even every page view. All I can hope for that I was able to pass on something interesting  to you. So a big heartfelt thanks and hug for your loyalty and friendship.
I pray that 2013 will bring you your hearts desires.
Depending on time, I might have a go at some more challenges, but if not, I will see you in the New Year.
Many, many blessings Hilde

I am sure in time this will come out or maybe we will never know...
My heart and prayers goes out to the parents, families and friends and colleagues of these gorgeous little kids and teachers that have been murdered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
This sort of tragedy is so life changing,  how would you cope? This will affect so many people for so many years to come.

DT Card for the Squirrel and the Fox # 32: Summer or Winter

Image by our sponsor : Robyns Fetish

Hi all , hope you had a great week. Well it's the Squirrel and the Fox time again, and this week we are asking you to create a Summer or Winter themed card. We are lucky here in Australia as we have been enjoying our Spring time. It's been a bit wet and stormy here in Sydney, but's that's normal. The Jacaranda trees are in full bloom, and some are starting to loose their beautiful flowers already, but they do only really flower during the month of November. But believe it or not today is the second day of Summer here Downunder and nothing says Summer more than a Sunflower don't you agree?
I used papers and embellies from my stash, the butterfly is a Stampin up die, I always use pro markers to colour my images. The Border punch is from MS, and there is nothing more fun to add than some bling and glitz to finish off a card....
Looking forward to seeing your creations, blessings Hilde

Hi everyone, hope you had a wonderful week. Well it's SAS4Kids  - Send a Smile 4 Kids - time again, and we are asking you to make a card with the theme of : Winter fun for Kids.
I have used two of our sponsors images.

Card One: Image from Crackerbox

Card Two: I turned the tag into a card and made it so you can open it, see pic. The image is a pre coloured image from Cuddly Buddly, so quick and simple, I love it. If you are in hurry and don't have time to sit and colour, these pre coloured images are perfect.
I used ribbons and papers from my stash, small doily cut into quarters bottom right, and the tag is a ready made large shipping tag, and I added the flap for a card on the back.

Another Gift box

Hi again, here is another giftbox made with the top note die, I don't think it is essential to use the top note die, but it is the perfect size.
Recipe: Top note die from SU/Sixxiz
Embossings: Cuttle bug folder  not sure of the name
Flowers, card, papers from my stash
I folded the tags of the box to the outside, so the inside stays nice and smooth. Perfect size for little gifts.
The whole idea of this box came from Jenny Moores Stamping Moments as mentioned in my previous posting, I bought a few of her kits, they are really nice and not too expensive and very easy to understand
( just what I need, lol)

Pretty Christmas Gift box

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. I am still on my quest to shake thinks up some and stretch myself to make things that i normally wouldn't . I was spending valuable ( ahm) resource/research time on Pinterest the other day, when I came across a lovely box, then clicked onto the pic and ended up at Jenny Moores Stamping Moments wonderful blog with all these projects from SU. MMMm....So I bought the info on the top note box kit, which I really liked.
I changed it a little. Does this happen to you? You see some else's wonderful craft ideas and must have that particular die or what ever....I HAD to have the top note die from SU/Sixxiz a while back and used it like crazy, but it had sadly been neglected. Well it's been resurrected once again, and it really is the most versatile of dies I have ever had.....
Recipe: Cardstock and paper from my stash
Embossing is a Cuttlebug folder embosser, but don't know the name.
The label is a freebie from : Lilac & Lavender
I folded the tags to the ouside of the box, and then covered it with embossed extra pieces, this also gives the box a bit of extra strength and covers the tags, so that the inside would be smooth...
Blessings Hilde

I will be entering this box into the following challenges:

Party Time Tuesday # 96 : Anything goes
Paper Pretties # 67: anything goes

How to use the Top note die in another way: Turn it

Hi all they say a picture says more than a thousand words....I found this idea on one of my Pinterest expeditions, and tried it out straight away....How cool it this?? You cut out the die, turn it and run it through again, tadaaaa.......
and you end up with to brackets as well, soooooooooooo coool.

DT Card for the Squirrel and the Fox # 30: Horses, Hats or Flowers

Hi everyone, hope you all had a wonderful week. It's the Squirrel and the Fox time again, and this week we are asking you to make a card with either Horses, Hat or flowers, or all of them.
We got to play with some gorgeous digi stamps from an Australian company named:Make it crafty
They also have 'real' stamps as well. I just love the details of them, this gal Zoe is one talented lady.
Head on over and check them out.

In Australia, every first Tuesday in November, in the city of Melbourne we have a horse race that seems to involve the whole country, in State of Victoria it's even a public Holiday, so hence the Horses, Hats or Flowers theme. I know of people that never even see the horses run even though they are there, it;s just one giant party, and all the girls dress up in their posh frocks, with hats and all. The rose garden is also in full bloom and is most impressive. Most people have a little bet or two, most offices tend to stop briefly to check out who won. Even those ( like myself) who isn't much interested in the whole thing....

I found these square doily on ebay UK, love them....Believe it or not the purple on the designer paper is actually the same as the background card, just didn't come out in the photo that way, what a shame.
I used some pretty blue coloured cherry blossoms and I always colour with Pro markers. As you can see the  double gate fold, folds out to reveal the centre which is doubled up to create a pocket, so to fit the large tag. Most of the embellishments are on the belli band. Hope you like it.
Looking forward to checking out your blogs, blessings Hilde

Feel free to check out my new blog

Hi everyone, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all my new followers, so glad to have you aboard.
This is not my normal type of posting on this blog, please bare with me.
I have been thinking about running another blog, so I can post all my latest endevours with all sorts of things I have become interested in,  particularly since I have been pinning things on Pinterest. I absolutely love it.
My brother in law had recently helped me with getting my garden back into gear. I had Breast Cancer 7 years ago now, and completely lost interest, even though I had previously enjoyed a bit of gardening and always had flowers on all sorts in my garden. Never ventured into veggies and all that.
At one stage I even ripped everything out....not sure why, but I did feel better afterwards. And the garden had not been touched since other that a bit of weeding.
I could go on, but don't want to make this post too long. So I used this opportunity to start another blog, so I can share my experiments with my new found gardening enthusiasm , interest in DIY, self sufficiency, very intriguing that idea, and other wonderful things along the way.
Sorry that there aren't any before pictures, as I just did not think to take any...
Please feel free to hop over, click here and check it out, I have only just started but hope to have a posting or two every week. Would love to hear from you.
Many Blessings Hilde

Front Pocket Card for challenges

Hi everyone, this is a card out of the 'norm' for me. I am trying to have a go at new things and stretching my self a little. I really like the way it turned out. The little pouch in the front is a 6 x 6 inch piece of double sided paper and is in the diamond fold. I just folded the front tip over again ( see under the butterfly) and there you have it. I don't have the photo to show you , but there is another pocket behind the first, so you can put in lots of gift cards, photos, little notes, stickers, anything that's reasonably flat I guess.
( I just put in a little note card for illustration purposes)
Just picture this is Christmas papers..... The papers are a mix from my stash, sorry I can't tell you which one. It;s all on a black base card, a black paper doily, (am in love with the black paper doily), , lots of bling, and the butterfly is from a Martha Stewart punch the large one. The card is 14 x 14 cm square, or I think 5.5 inch approx.
the Sentiment was computer printed and cut out with the word punch from SU.
Have a great day, blessings Hilde

The Squirrel and the Fox blog hop

Yeah we are 1 year old!!!!

“Hello and welcome to my part in the Squirrel and the Fox blog hop.
If you have come here from Helen's blog, then you’re in the right place. If you just happened to stumble upon my blog, head to the Squirrel and the Fox to start at the beginning and read how the hop works. You can also see all the amazing prizes up for grabs.
To celebrate one whole year of The Squirrel and the Fox, the team are giving away some wonderful prizes. There’s even an individual prize for just landing here on this pages.
To showcase their work, each DT member is also showing off some of their favourite creations. I have chosen this card/mini album made by me some months ago now.
It;s more than just a card, I put a little more effort into this one and made it into a card/mini album with a large tag. I thought the card could become the present.
The papers are from my stash, butterfly die from SU and the border punch is from Martha Stewart, I added some 'real' lace, cute cherry blossoms and a jewel butterfly.

The prize that is being given away from my blog has been generously donated by Robyn's Fetish and are 5 digistamps and more.
To win this prize, simply leave your comment below (which you are doing anyway as part of the hop), become a follower of my blog and at the end of the hop I will randomly draw one winner. Remember, to be eligible for any prizes, you must complete the entire hop.

Thank you for visiting. Now you’re off to visit Linda, Happy Hopping!”
