Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2012

Hi everyone, tis the season.....................and while we are on the subject let us just remember the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate this special time of year. The birth of Christ.
After having Breast cancer (7 years this Christmas), I do live my life differently....
Life is too short to be stressed and worry, and hold on to grudges and unforgiveness.
Unforgiveness can make you sick.
My advice :
Don't take offense when someone offends you (most of the time they don't even know that have and even if they did it on purpose, you do have a choice, to be offended or not to be......)
Live one day at a time. Don't worry about tomorrow so much, it will come soon enough.
Don't endure today enjoy it.
Look for the positive in everything first not the negative.
Don't set yourself up to fail, lower your expectations of yourself and others a little.
Often we think our partner and kids are suppose be these perfect people and are dissapointed when they turn out to be anything but perfect. Be gracious, loving, kind, quick to forgive, don't hold grudges, and be a blessings to others. Don't wait for someone to visit you first, or to ring you first or to email you etc.
You be the is too short......let your closest and dearest know how much you love them....
Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ, our saviour our Lord.
Believe. I pray that you will have a wonderful peaceful, joyful Christmas.
Looking forward to sharing many more card avendtures with you in 2012.
Blessings Hilde

DT Card for the Alphabet Challenge: X for Xtra Special Ocassion

It;s another wonderful challenge over at the Alphabet Challenge
It;s our last challenge for the year. My goodness has this year flown past. I can tell how fast by looking at my almost 2 and 4 year grandchildren. Every time I see them they are that little taller and the face and body changes. Scary.
This is one of my favourite cards to make. You can use your leftovers, nothing goes to waste. The flowers are punches from MS and Ek success, the butterfly is a MS. The curly label under the Congrats is from SU.
Paper from my stash, I added some bling to the centres.Hope you like it. Your turn now to creat something for that special occassion.
OOps I nearly forgot. We are after you!!! Yes you. We are having a DT call. If you ever wanted to be on one and didn't think you could, have a go. Hop on over to the challenge blog and sign up. Love to have you.
All the best with that. I got my 'break' on the Alphabet Challenge. My first DT ever, had no idea what I was it.
Blessings Hilde

Thankyou card for challenges

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and are organised for the 'big' day. We celebrate our Christmas with our Family on Christmas Eve, that is something wonderful.
Everyone has a different tradition. My parents were german immigrants and we always celebrated our Christmas on that day. My daughter inlaw loves it, as it doesn't cause any clashes with other family members from her side of the fence.
I am so over making Christmas cards, now, it seems like I have been making Christmas card forever. I do have a couple more to go then I am finished. That is why I 'had' to make a 'normal' card to break the cycle a little. The colours on this card are not my normal colours at all. I love pinks and pastels and everything inbetween. But this teal blue paired up with yellow is a bit out of the ordinary for me. I put a touch of green into it to soften the colours some. Hope you like it. The image is from Sugar Nellie and is called.............Victoria, love those eyes.

He only knows one setting and that is 'high', lol. These days it's so much more relaxed. It's all about using your backyard or balcony, or whatever you have.
