WOYWW 82

Hi everyone, hope you all had a peaceful Christmas. I know I did. After the whole 'Drama' with my daughter having to have her Gallbladder out and the 'aftermath', totally throwing any of my plans out the window, we ended up having the best Christmas. It was just close family and it was so peaceful. We just stayed home and enjoyed ourselves. Ahhh... It was nice. We had weird weather, it was overcast most of the days, and not real hot either, which is unusual for us this time of year. I do feel for all my fellow bloggers with piles of snow and ice. Brrr!!... I am sure all that added some interesting moments to your festivities???
Just a quick pic of part of my very long work desk. I am blessed to have received some crafting items, and one of them was a new cricut cartridge call 'trim the tree', how appropriate now that Christmas is over, LOL and I splurged and bought myself a stamp from sugarnellie called Manga Princess, can't wait to try out both.
To the left you can see some Digi stamps I have printed out ready for my 'grown up colouring in' as I call it.
A wonderful New Year blessings to all of you and see you next week.
Blessings Hilde

Whats on your workdesk Wednesday #81

Here you can see the desk from my side, notice the computer in the front bottom  right. That is my computer. you can see my daughter in the background, in her section up the other end. And yes we have our own computer each. There was no way it was gonna work with homeschooling and me trying to run my business, unless we had a computer each. We tried with one for a while and took turns. I ended up with a few too many grey hairs. It was not worth the strees. This is much more fun. An yes she is finally well enough again to be computering again.LOL

Here is my little box of buttons. I should colour co ordinate them, maybe one day. Truth is I just love a good rumage.....

Here you see my end again from a different angle. It's a lovely bright and airy room. We have been very blessed. This room was originally ment to be the TV room, but we have used it for our work space instead. Works really well, especially with this lovely long table ( 3.20m)We bought it off Ebay for $20.00 and husband and son had to pick it up.....My husband very politely told me NEVER to buy furniture off ebay again.....!!!It came in 3 parts and they had to go through a shopping centre and two flights of stairs and to the back street into the waiting van to move it.
Ahhh yes, but it fits so well!!

Thank You, Thank You,  THANK YOU!!!
To everyone that commented on my blog and my last WOYWW. You are a nice bunch out there.
My daughter, after being dashed to emergency on the sunday with severe pain, then having her Gall bladder taken out (she is only 15) was quiet a shock to all of us. For those of you who are only just catching up, the doctors say its not common but does happen after severe weight loss or weight gain. Well my daughter lost 25 kg ( on purpose) she was a getting a bit chubby. We were watching how she was doing it, excercising and low fat, high protein, low carbs. ( Well she cut out the carbs altogether). She started in February this year and by August had lost the 25kgs she wanted to loose.
But just recently started to feel unwell and constantly tired, big dark rings under her eyes. Well we now know why. The blood results showed she had something wrong with the liver, unltrasound showed the culprit. One thing led to another and there we have it. She had Key hole surgery, and another related op two days later. She took a turn for the worse two days ago. But is now up and about and even went on a short shopping stint with me today.
Hallelujah. We are all good again. When the girl can go shopping we know things are improving.
So thanks again to everyone that has commented. It ment a great deal to me.
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all, and especially good Health
Blessings Hilde

Challenges: NettieG's Digi Gems, Top Tip Tuesday, Papertake, Stamping for the Weekend,Crafty Sentiments

Hi everyone, my my, what a week I have had. My 15 year old daugher had to have an emergency gall bladder removal, and we are now home again. She is recovering well under the circumstances. They reckon it had to do with her weightloss. She lost 25kgs this year. They can't really explain it, she certainly doesn't fit the criteria. I have a few extra grey hairs, but other than that we are all good. I am just so relieved that she is ok and getting better. Phew!! Could have done with out all of that. So all the things I wanted to do this week didn;t get done, not sure that I will be able to enter any more challenges until the New Year, but my guess is we are all in the same boat there.
Hope you like my CAS card I made with Netties Digi Image. I think the image is just awesome.

What's on your workdesk Wednesday? 80

It's Wednesday again, oh my. I have just taken a few shots and uploaded them, as I am just about to walk out again, as my beautiful 15 year old daughter has been in Hospital since Sunday. She had an emergency operation on Monday to take her Gallbladder out. Just came home to have a shower get changed, check my emails, and now will off again soon. My husband has taken over the next 'shift' so to speak.  How does this happen?she had lost 25kgs this year, and they reckon that 'could' have something to do with. I really think they don't know. She was in so much pain, we were beside ourselves to know what to do. Today she had a secondary prodedure that is related to the whole problem. For all you praying folk out there, certainly would appreciate some prayers her way.
Amazingly though I had the urge to take these photos and calmly upload them and write this before I scoot out again. Huh. This weird feeling like I am in the eye of a storm or something. Very calm.

Here you see my bag of promarkers, which I love, I had just started to colour in some digi stamps.

This photo you can see to the left of my big long table/desk. That is were my daughter sits and does her studies.

A closer look at my digi stamps. I had just printed off a whole heap and trimmed some back, ready to colour. I had to drop everything and leave it all. I am not sure at this point when I can back to it, don't even care it;s even more messy. Family first. There might not even be any christmas cards sent this year... see how things go. ( There's the Drama Queen coming out again!) Just need to catch up on some emails and  then off to the Hospital again.
Take care everyone, you just don't know when stuff happens.
All going well she should be back home on the weekend.
Blessings Hilde

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday? 79

Hi, I hope you all had a contructive week. I have been quiet busy, hence the two coffee cups, sorry about that. Am a sucker for lots of coffee while I am working. I make a lot of cards and sell them on ebay, plus my challenge cards. So much fun. I am working on some bookmarks at the moment and am using them for little gifts to send in with the Christmas cards for a bunch of friends. Believe or not, this is fairly tidy. I don't like 'setting' up my workdesk. What you see is what you get.

In this pic you can see a little more to the right of where I sit. It's a very long desk/table and there is a computer either end. I homeschool my daughter. She sits to the left and I sit to the right, unless I sit in the middle making cards, LOL. Confused? I will reveal more and more of the 'desk' as time goes on. Might even tidy up a bit, now there;s a shock. My daughter will be doing her year 10 at TAFE next year so will need to find something more contructive to do.God willing my little ebay business might turn into a big ebay business. Have a great week everyone, and thanks so much for all of your lovely comments. You are a great bunch.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, well I did it. i have put my tree up. My little family tradition is putting up the tree by or around the 1st of December. We don't religiously follow the 4 advents or anything like that. We don't wait until a couple of days before the big day to put up a tree either. When my oldest children were younger we use to have a real tree. In our hot climate, some ugly straggly pine tree just didn't cut it for me. I was used to the beautiful spruce trees we had in Germany when I was young. So an uneven funny looking fir tree was not for me. To make matters worse the tree would look rather sad  after only one week. We always put it in a bucket of moist sand but it didn't work. So one day I decided that's it, I am buying a fake tree. This tree is roughtly 20 years old now, it gets resurrected every year, and it's still  gorgoeus. Sorry about the pic, I chopped off the top by accident. It has a lovely sparkly star on the top. New to this year is my chandelier which I also decorated in our new colours. I am normally a traditional colour girl, red and gold. But this year my 15 year old daughter wanted to try something different. So hence the new colours. Purple, silver and a hint of pink. Not sure if you can really see it on the tree. We elevate the tree so we have plenty of space for the presents. I am still catching up with decorating the rest of the room. When I told my husband about our new colour scheme he just grunted. So I'm not sure yet if that was good or bad, lol, oh well. It's done now. The only thing is now after years and years of collecting everything in red and gold, I havn't got any matching doilies or table runners.  Now i can't find anything to match up with it anywhere. Red and gold have taken over every single shop I have been to. Typical.  Well I might just see if I can get some material and make something. It might just have to wait until next year, unless we switch back to red and gold.....Mmmmm.

Hi all, I found the cutest image of an angel. Isn't she adorable? I like her. I have 'tried' to make my card look a little vintage or shabby chic. I am entering this card into the following challenges:

challenges: Lexi;s creations, paperplaytime, Oohlala Creations, WagsnWhiskers, Cute Card Thursday, Paper Romance

Hi all, here is Frosty the snowman, or at least the card that the song inspired. We don't have a cold or snowy christmas in Sydney, so it feels strange to make this card, I have no idea who to send it too. Maybe to one of my friends with a good sense of humour.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Lexi's Creations : Blue and Silver
Paper play time#27: Christmas Carol inspired ( Frosty the snowman)
Oohlala Creations#68: Christmas song (Frosty the snowman)
WagsnWhiskers: Snowflakes
cute card Thursday # 141: The blues
paper Romance # 27: Winter Theme

challenges: Flutterby Wednesday, Everything but the kitchensink, FabnFunky

Hi all, I do enjoy making a 'normal' card again, been so focussed on Christmas stuff, but then again it is the season. But just to keep me sane, I revelled in doing something different again. I heat embossed the butterfly. I stamped and embossed the image twice, once in silver on the black card and once in blackon the white card. I then cut them in half and matched the opposites up.So you end up with two sets. Which is awesome, because you can make two cards ofcourse. I just love the colour combo black and white with one. Hope you like it too. The background card (white perimeter) has been dry embossed with a tim holtz swirly pattern, and the blue printed pattern in on a glossy card. So lots of textures.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Futterby Wednesday # 133:  Open ( must have a butterfly, angel or fairy on it)
Everything but the Kitchen sink # 28: Textures ( Their last challenge, sorry to see you go, best of luck in the future, blessings Hilde)
FabnFunky # 51 : Birthday Card

challenges: the paper variety, a crafty little place, top tip tuesday

Hi again, well I thought I should continue with the untraditional Christmas colours, they are really nice, and I have honestly never used this one before. The backgound is a corrugated card in a brown marone colour, with yellow, gold and purple. Very different, but I like it.
Hope you do to,
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
